Lyra made its debut as a full leather article in Poltrona Frau’s catalogue of 1934, as a variant of Lira, an earlier model (from 1916) that had a velvet cushion. The 1934 replica still sported a rounded seatback and finishing by means of a row of leather-covered nails, which were the formal traits of Victorian living room furniture, combined with the other comfort-making features of these armchairs: deep seat, comfortable arms, a plush cushion filled with goose down. The padding of rubberised horsehair is applied by hand onto the biconic steel springs of the seat and back springing. The structure is made of seasoned beech wood.
Upholstery is available in Pelle Frau® leather.
