Asterias table by Molteni

Molteni

Asterias, a cactaceous plant native to the mountainous areas of Mexico, gives its name to this new project by Patricia Urquiola. A round table with generous dimensions, characterized by a central base that resembles the cactus from which it takes its name. It is, in fact, composed of six curved, wedge-shaped wood panels, applied cantilevered on the central plinth. The panels are made with the special technique of 3d molding. The top (160 or 180 cm), with a rounded edge, in the essence version is divided into four segments that give rise to an interesting geometric design. The table also features a practical accessory: a central turntable (Lazy Susan), which is very popular in Asian countries.
