Le Corbusier LC3 Fauteuil grand confort, grand modèle armchair and sofa by Cassina

With the different models of Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modèle the logic of modernity implements a separation between the metal supporting structure and the upholstered elements. The cushions, with no ties, are arranged in a cage of painted or chromed steel tubing that constitutes the primary support of the furniture in every declination, from the armchair with single or double armrests to the two- or three-seater sofas. Over the years Cassina has worked closely with Charlotte Perriand, her daughter Pernette and the Fondation Le Corbusier to introduce new versions and finishes that while reinterpreting the original design fully respect its authenticity. These models are also available in a more ecological version. Thanks to the study carried out by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between Cassina’s Research and Development Center and Poli. design of the Milan Polytechnic, the foamed elements, cushion upholstery and tubular frame are made with more sustainable materials and processes.
