Le Corbusier LC2 armchair and sofa by Cassina (Fauteuil grand confort)

A timeless model that has made design history by becoming a world-renowned icon. Designed for conversational comfort, the armchair was exhibited at the Salon d’Automne in Paris in
1929, as an archetype of the modern conception of furniture, understood by the authors as “domestic equipment.” The independence between the metal frame and cushions aligns with the principles of rationalism,
just as the separation between the parts follows the logic of industrial production by evoking the architectural relationship between the supporting structure and the infill elements.
These models are also available in a more ecological version, always respecting the original design. Thanks to the study performed by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between Cassina’s Center for Research and
Development of Cassina and Poli. design of the Polytechnic University of Milan, the foamed elements, cushion padding and tubular frame are made with more sustainable materials and processes.
